High School Pathways offer a unique opportunity for students to delve into specialized areas of interest, akin to majors in college, laying the foundation for their educational journey right from high school.

 

Regardless of their post-secondary plans, every student can benefit from selecting and following a sequence of career-related classes tailored to their specific area of interest.

Key Aspects of a Pathway:

  • A Pathway represents a curated sequence of courses within a chosen area of interest.
  • It establishes a connection between high school, college, and/or career aspirations.
  • It serves as an educational roadmap, guiding students to relevant high school courses and post-secondary options aligned with their chosen career destination.
  • It facilitates the acquisition of in-depth knowledge and skills linked to specific post-secondary programs, leading to certificates, degrees, and career readiness.

What is an Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technology Pathway?

    Students in this pathway are equipped to tackle problems, big or small, and drive innovation. The rigorous college preparatory curriculum emphasizes advanced mathematics and science, preparing students for university-level work. Career possibilities span various science and math occupations, including roles in physical, environmental, and human endeavors.

     

What is a Visual and Performing Arts Pathway?

    This pathway nurtures students' hands-on foundational skills in diverse modes of artistic expression, from studio art to acting. Students gain cultural awareness and develop communication, creative, and critical thinking skills. Potential careers include artists, musicians, designers, actors, or audio producers, with opportunities for higher education in related fields.

What is a Business, Management and Administration Pathway?

    Offering insights into customer-focused careers, this pathway develops skills in technology, communication, and management. Students explore business ownership basics, formulate business plans, and delve into financial management. Careers include entrepreneurship, sales, marketing, economics, and management, with specializations in accounting, banking, and financial services.

What is an Information and Communication Technology Pathway?

    Focused on applying and managing technology for problem-solving, this pathway equips students to analyze, process, and manage information effectively. Students learn to create technology-based solutions and evaluate the role of information in organizational settings. Careers in information technology cover hardware, software, multimedia, and network systems.

What is the Health Service Pathway?

    Students in this pathway study to identify and treat injuries or diseases, preparing for careers promoting health, wellness, and diagnostics. Career options include biotechnology research and development, diagnostic services, and health informatics, with a focus on serving the community through health-related services.

     

    These pathways align with our commitment to College and Career Readiness, emphasizing the Advanced Placement Diploma as a testament to our students' preparedness for the next phase of their educational journey.

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS

Advanced Placement Diploma

  • Eligibility Requirements for the APID:

    1. AP Exam Performance:

    • Students must score a 3 or higher on a minimum of 5 AP Exams.
    • In cases where exams are taken multiple times, only the highest score will be considered for the award calculation.

    2. School Location:

    • Students must attend a secondary school outside the U.S. or U.S. territories.
    • Alternatively, students attending schools within the U.S., U.S. territories, or the DoDEA network can be eligible by sending their AP scores to a university outside the U.S.

    3. Content Areas:

    • Exams considered for the APID must cover a diverse range of content areas, ensuring a well-rounded academic achievement. For more information about the content areas, please contact the school’s Career and Guidance Counselor.

     

    It's worth highlighting that the APID is not something students need to apply for; it is automatically awarded based on the fulfillment of the stipulated criteria. This diploma is a testament to a student's commitment to excellence and their ability to excel in challenging and globally relevant academic pursuits.

What is career guidance?

Career guidance helps students make clear, careful, and individual choices for college and career readiness in the areas of academic planning, course selection, goal setting, career planning, and post-secondary transition, including admissions and financial responsibilities.
